2 STORIES AND EXAM PREPARATION
Story 1
The Hat Seller and the Monkeys
this story was told us by one of my professors, when it was his last teaching class(probably).it goes like something this
there was a vendor who used to sell hats. he used to go his nearby villages to sell hats with a basket on his head which is usually full of hats. due to scorching heat in the season of summer, he used to rest in the afternoon. this was his way of life. one day when was taking a nap in the noon in the shade of a tree, a group of monkeys came and took all the hats and left the basket empty. when he woke up after taking nap, he saw that all the hats are not there, then he saw the monkeys on the branch of that tree. he try to persuade monkeys with all he have but all them have problem of mimicking and copying every act the person does. soon after , the person came up with idea and he wear the cap that he has, so does the monkeys and then he threw it on the ground so does the monkeys, and when they did such thing, the person collected the hats rapidly and ran away.
this story goes viral in the villages.
after a long time, the grand child of that vendor also became a hat seller. he also used to sell hats in the villages. after sometime he also goes into the same village and took a nap in the noon. the situation become a sense of deja vu. after taking a nap, the person saw that group of monkeys with all the hats of his basket. whatever the person try to do, the group of monkey did the same thing as copy. the person knows what his grandfather did in this dire situation. as soon he realised, he took a cap from his pocket and wear it, so did the monkeys. then he threw his cap and then the monkeys told him "its was not just your grandfather who told you this story".
Story 2
The Wisdom of the Axe
long time ago, there was a village of wood cutters too far from the city. the wood cutters come from the villages in a group to the city. they all used to work from 9 to 5. one day a new young woodcutter came up in the group and was given the axe to cut down a tree , he saw all the persons cutting the tree relentlessly. he came up with idea , he started to sharpen his axe for 4 hours and the he cut the tress in the next 4 hours. his output was more than every person in the group, everyone thought that it was due to his nonstop hardworking and relentlessly cutting. days gone and his share was always the largest in the group.one day his very close person ask about his secret, he told him about that but the close person's axe was large than the young wood cutter. he try to replicate the method of that person, the results was more but not as more as he thought so. he became puzzled and goes to that young wood cutter and told him . then the young person replied to him, you should choose the timings to sharpen according to your circumstances, your strength, your axe’s size, your rhythm. What worked for me may not work the same for you . definitely not what timings i told you. and voila, magic occurs as the share of his results goes as higher as expected.

exam preparation
so i have been told many things by many toppers for the cse exam . the crux of every advice is that one shall know thyself and one should know cse.
since my childhood, i have been social conditioned in such a way that for achieving something in studies, one should study, study, study all the time.
many people even sometimes including myself feel that study all the time , avoid every problem, ignore everything...that's the preparation. but to face everything, solve every problem by any smartness...to jump all the hurdles any how is true preparation, or better be say that what i feel.
but i feel there will be problems, which i have to dealt with. there are problems , breaks and during these such , i have to very smart to deal with all problems. sometimes avoidance and ignorance are good tools but not always, they are not the ultimate one for very problem, there is too much diversity and variety of problems, and so there has to be very smart mind to know how to deal with all these .
i know sticking to a schedule is pre requisite for any exam preparation and even necessary but there will be bad days, try to stick to schedule it by use of your smartness. try to guided by the schedule not the blinded one.
what people think if i dont follow for their traditional mindset, they will speak only till the time before result declared , not after that. they will not even praise me for my in-process mindset , rather greeted me for my results. so people dont matter so much
now, the real question, are only the consequences matter ?
what if my social conditioning is true ...or what if i am not capable of cse...what if i have done all till date is wrong...or what if even my all this thinking is wrong...
i guess we will never know until we try and in that trial , there lies a sense of freedom...and which is that whatever i can do without harming myself , i done. even there could be a possibility that whatever i been told, done by me and still fail.. because results are too uncertain...we cant be sure about all the preparation method.
even if there is failure, accept it and think that maybe this is not the work for which i been born. this is not my destiny but there will be something more suitable than it, waiting for me.
one should strive for cse, but not the desperate one. cse is part of life , exams are part of life not the life itself.
