Solace in Solitude

with the incoming of more advanced technology , the world seems to shrink, the connectivity seems almost like the blink of an eye. the human connections are so easily available with just one tap away from your screen. it feels all good and correct just like an utopia but why distress rising so much ? why are people getting more and more anxious ?

the thing which aimed to make our social interaction more accessible , how is it collapsing the social interaction ? how it is using itself as a way of escaping the reality ? why are we unable to think more clearly ? why we almost fogged in our thoughts and always distracted ? why we always feel tired and ready to sleep but our body don't ? why are our eyes and brain always tired but body so active ?

the answer to all these questions lies in the form of mobile phones. the thing which was invented to make our life easy somehow making our mental health so tensed which ultimately making our lives difficult. its like an irony in itself . it can be explained in many ways as doom scrolling and always using phone as a means to escape from ongoing reality.

have you ever noticed that always our brain and our thinking become so clear just when we use restroom , though the sad news is that mobile phones have now also entered into that place.
there is nothing such place that has been left untouched by the reach of mobile phones.

this rant could go on and on ...but where does the solution lies ?

 1. accept it ...that it is actually a problem. without even recognising and acknowledging it, we are unable to deal with it. accept that you have this problem. don't try to detach yourself from it as you thinks that yes it is a problem but not to me, the world has this problem but not me . yes you have this problem. Accept it with a heavy and brutal heart.

2. Give yourself time to use phone . decide for yourself the time you must allocate yourself for phone . decide some boundaries for phone.

3. Use It as Recreation, Not a Companion : Say no to phones while eating. Say no while riding a bike or scooty with headphones on. Detach from your phone while performing everyday tasks. Let your attention belong to the moment you’re in.

4. Learn to Rest Without a Screen :  Build habits of relaxation and recreation that don’t involve a phone. Let stillness exist without filling it instantly.

5. Practice Being Bored : Allow boredom. Make it a habit, slowly , gradually and intentionally. Boredom is not the enemy; it’s the doorway to clarity.

i understand that all this is easier said than done...but you have to take steps to make it all happen ... initially it seems so tough and hard but as time goes by it felt less difficult , more enjoying and ultimately leads to feelings of solace. stillness is more comfortable than sunlight in winters.

otherwise , we all will be stuck in this loop , endlessly connected, yet increasingly disconnected even from ourselves.
